My Largest Plein Air yet...30"x 48" oil...Mill Pond

Well...finally got the monkey off my back, my nemesis...that is
knowing that Edward Redfield, the Buck County Impressionist and
contemporary of John Singer Sargent's day...used to paint 50"x 56"
size canvases start to finish in one day, or alla prima.

I couldn't figure out how he'd manage...or get such a canvas out
of the field home safely.

But...I set my canvas up...using a Best Delux Lobo easel borrowed
from a friend-

and some mural brushes that really push the paint
around on a large scale...

also knew I would need a larger palette to mix my
paint on, and made this one out of masonite...

finally, one last pic to show me workin', and you get
an idea of the scale of this effort-
