Lets get MESSY!

We hadn't been painting on this scale for a while so I thought it was about time we did!  I got a large roll of card from the Materials Bank and rolled it out across the block paving.  I gave the children containers of watered down paint and let them explore......and explore they did!  It started off as quite a civilised feet painting activity.
The children enthusiastically stood in the paint and made footprints across the card.
They found they could slip and slide in the paint which they seemed to enjoy.

Okay, so appearing to have exhausted exploration with their feet, they progressed to their hands.

Hmmm still not too bad you're thinking.

After their hands, they moved on to their legs.
Of course once you have your legs painted, there is only one thing to do.......swim!
Well with feet, hands and legs painted, its leaves only one more place for painting...
Our face!
A girl has to check out how she looks!
As the children explored, one little boy enjoyed feeling the paint spray on his face and arms as he clapped his hands.
I think I can safely say this activity was a hit!
As the paint started to run out, the children resorted to desperate measures to get the last bit!
Then they found alternative uses for the paint trays!
What do you think of our masterpiece?
